Ms. Neeta Bajaj then talked about her transition from a gourmet cook delighting her family and friends with chocolates made at home to a successful chocolatier managing a thriving business. She gave an online demonstration of a variety of chocolates (milk, fruit & nut, crackle etc) and walked the participants through the process of making chocolates and the techniques and science involved. She gave an in depth behind the scenes look at the equipment and raw material needed where this could be procured, how this is used and guidelines to be followed. This was followed by an informative and interactive Q & A session where Neeta went into more details.
Within an hour of the workshop, eMERG received pictures of chocolates made by the participants following Neeta’s instructions and one participant messaged to say that she had already bagged an order for 100 chocolates. We can definitely conclude that the workshop was very effective!

The eMERG COE’s inaugural workshop “Chocolate Making as a Business” was held on July 24th 2020 and was presented by eMERG Life member Ms Neeta Bajaj.
The workshop was attended by eMERG and non eMERG members – a total of 25 participants in all. eMERG Life member Ms. Nivedita Prasad, co founder of Chocolate Philosophy – one of the leading gourmet chocolate brands in the country today, started off the session by sharing her entrepreneurial journey and the role that eMERG has played in connecting her to various opportunities that helped in her business growth.

Thanks to Ms Ruta Sen Sharma for a fascinating and informative workshop on Terracotta Jewellery making. Ruta demonstrated how pendants and earrings could be made going into every detail of the process from moulding and drawing the design on raw clay to firing the clay, painting the design and the final finishing touches of beads , hooks etc. Ruta also shared tips on sourcing of items, pricing your products, identifying your USP and targeting your market segment…making for an excellent workshop hosted by eMERG COE
